Mixle ("Mixle," "we," "us," or "our") is a product operated by DataBox Technologies, LLC ("DataBox"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you access or use Mixle via our website, web application, SDK integrations, QR-based entry points, or related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using Mixle, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Core Privacy Philosophy

Mixle is built around intent-based, moment-driven, and ephemeral interactions.

Our guiding principles:

Minimal data collection — only what's necessary to facilitate connections
No permanent social graph — connections are contextual and temporary
No public or searchable profiles — information is visible only to matched users
No sale of personal data — we do not sell personal information
Intent is temporary and contextual — declared intents expire

Mixle is designed to help people connect in the moment, not to create lasting digital identities.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

Display name or first name
Optional profile photo
Short bio or descriptive sentence
Declared intents
Messages exchanged during active connections
Event or venue context (event code, QR identifier, venue ID)
Feedback, support requests, or reports

B. Authentication Information

Email address (Apple, Google, or magic link login)
Phone number (if SMS login is used)
Authentication tokens and session identifiers

We do not store plaintext passwords.

C. Automatically Collected Information

Device and browser type
IP address (used for security and abuse prevention)
Approximate location or event-based location context (city-level only or inferred from event/venue)
Timestamps, session duration, and feature usage
Error logs and diagnostic data

D. Cookies & Limited Analytics

We use:

Strictly necessary cookies for session management and security
Limited, privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve performance

Where analytics tools are used, they are configured to:

Mask IP addresses where supported
Avoid cross-site tracking

Operate event-scoped and time-bound experiences
Maintain platform security and integrity

We do not:

Track users across unrelated websites or apps

4. Ephemeral & Intent-Based Design

Mixle is intentionally temporary:

Intents expire after events or inactivity
Matches may expire automatically
Chats may be deleted after inactivity or event completion
No persistent friend lists or follower networks
No behavioral profiling for advertising

Data Retention Summary

Declared intents: Deleted within 24 hours after event end or withdrawal
Chat messages: Deleted within 7 days after last activity
Event-scoped data: Deleted within 30 days after event completion
Account data: Retained while active, then deleted or anonymized within 30 days of account deletion
Anonymized analytics: Retained indefinitely

Inactive accounts (180+ days) may be anonymized or deleted.

5. User Interactions & Safety Notice

Mixle facilitates introductions but does not verify identities or supervise in-person meetings.

You acknowledge:

Other users may be strangers
Mixle does not conduct background checks
You are solely responsible for deciding whether and where to meet

We encourage meeting in public places and reporting suspicious behavior.

Reports are reviewed promptly and appropriate action may be taken, including suspension or reporting to authorities when legally required.

6. Aggregated Analytics & Insights

We may share non-identifiable, aggregated data with event organizers, venues, or sponsors, such as:

Total intent selections
Match and connection counts
Peak engagement windows
Category popularity

We do not share:

Names, emails, phone numbers
Message content
Individual connection histories

By using Mixle at an event, you consent to your activity contributing to anonymized analytics.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data.

We may share information only with:

Service providers performing infrastructure, authentication, analytics, error monitoring, or email delivery functions under confidentiality obligations
Event organizers or partners, limited strictly to aggregated, anonymized insights
Legal authorities, when required by law or to prevent harm
Successor entities, in the event of a merger or acquisition (with notice)
Mobile information and SMS consent data will not be shared, sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

7A. SMS Messaging & Mobile Information

Mixle may offer SMS-based services, including Mixle by Text, to facilitate networking introductions, match recommendations, consent requests, account notifications, event participation, and related communications.

By voluntarily initiating a conversation with a Mixle SMS number, submitting a phone number through Mixle, or otherwise opting in to receive SMS communications, users consent to receive conversational text messages related to the Service.

Message frequency varies based on user activity and interactions.

Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Users may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP.

Users may request assistance by replying HELP.

Mobile phone numbers, SMS consent, and SMS interaction data are used solely to provide and operate the Service.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that support the delivery of messaging services and only to the extent necessary to provide those services.

Users who opt out of SMS communications may continue to access other Mixle services where applicable.
